2007 Sees a dramatic expansion of the Festival markets area:
Markets in Coppergate:
The Coppergate Centre hosts markets for all 10 days. This new feature is complemented by on-street demonstrations. The markets follow themes:
World Foods (21st to 23rd ):
Yorkshire Organic Market (24th and 25th):
Farmers and Specialist producers (26th to 28th):
YUMI - Amateur world cooks from York, cultural activities and some guest stands. (29th and 30th):
Markets in Parliament Street / St Sampson's Square: These Markets are in situ throughout.
Deliciously Yorkshire, specialist market from the region.
Covered Market, a tented area of wine sampling stands and various festival guests.
Twilight Market, new for 2007. The Twilight Market is open until 9pm, it includes lots of street food, and partners the Beer Tent - also open until 9pm.
The Eye of York: (below Clifford's Tower 29th and 30th):
Hosts demonstrations and workshops over the final two days. The areas incorporates: Feast at the Festival An exciting collection of small scale artisan producers and farmers.
Last but not least - Newgate Market:
open every day.
